We got the daily math, writing, and reading books to keep my 6yr/o's mind fresh over the summer. She loves doing the work because it is so short and she gets to show off her skills. A single day in the book is like 2-4 questions and they are presented in fun ways that are not overwhelming and don't take more than a few minutes to complete. I went with the 1st grade level because that is what she is heading into in the fall, but I feel like these are almost too easy for her. Maybe they'll get tougher as the weeks/pages progress, but it's not a big deal if they don't because my intent is just to keep these things in her mind so she doesn't fall back.

I really like this workbook. It is not one of those that's in color, but the layout is simple and clear without a lot of distraction, which is something that not all of the books in this category can claim. The idea is that you do 5 problems per session, with a small quiz at the end of five sessions to make sure the information 'stuck'. We have found (and I'm now starting this book with my second child) that 5 problems are so easy and fun that we sometimes do more than one unit a day.Besides the clear format, the other aspect of this book that I like is that the problems aren't all presented in the same format. For example, right off the bat, they have horizontal arithmetic problems along with a word problems and pictorial problems.A horizontal problem:3 + 1 = ____Word problem :Tom has one ball. He buys one more. How many does he have in all?Picture problem:Well can't paste a picture, but here's an example: The picture will show four pennies and the question will be "How much?"Four Stars. We have found this an excellent workbook that can be easily understand. Five problems at a time is generally not too much, even for active children like mine. This book however is ONLY a workbook with exercise problems. Parents and others looking for HOW to teach math book will have to look elsewhere. May I suggest "Math for Your 1st and 2nd Grader" by Steve Slavin. Math for Your First- and Second-Grader: All You Need to Know to Be Your Child's Best Teacher

I use several enrichment books with my first grader as after-school review, and would highly recommend the Daily Math Practice Grade 1 book. There are five daily problems spread over 36 weeks and covers computation, word problems, patterns, understanding numbers, geometry, graphing, and measurement. My daughter enjoys working on the problems in this book as there's variety in the way the problems are structured. In addition, the problems are repeated in different formats so that a child can be trained to solve similar problems without too much thought - after a while, my daughter was doing most of the problems mentally as she had memorized a lot of the common number facts.I also appreciate the thinking questions in this book. For example: "Penny gives her dog a bone every morning and every night. How many bones does she need in one week?" - here, the child will be expected to figure out that in one day, the dog ate two bones; and then in one week there are seven days, so it will be two times seven equals fourteen. This is a great way to integrate the concept of multiplication, and there are other problems which introduce children to fractions. We can't wait to move on to the next level!

We've used this workbook to supplement our homeschool math curriculum (Shiller), which is more advanced but at a different pace than Daily Math Practice. For example, our math doesn't do fractions yet but does do 3 and 4 digit addition with carrying. My son's reading skills aren't up to this workbook, but his geometry skills far surpass it. His mental math and Roman numerals are ahead of the book, as well. In addition, the format is boring: black and white, no use of manipulatives (though you can use your own ideas, of course), no variation on the pages at all.Every child is different, as is every math curriculum. I wouldn't purchase this again, but if my son was still in school and needed practice, this workbook would be fine. Math To Learn/Math On Call/Math At Hand, along with their Teacher Resource Books, are far better for parent/family resources and practice of skills. We use them frequently and can't recommend them highly enough. But Daily Math Practice is quick and reinforces some skills, and it does help with knowing where they "should" be for homeschoolers.

I like the spiral review concept of this workbook. There is not a scope and sequence, persay. But, it does hit many skills! I am using this to kickstart my homeschooled daughter’s Kindergarten year!

Love it and more importantly my kindergartener loves it. He always does 2 sessions at a time.

This is a great supplement to my son's homework. Sadly his school is going through education reform and I don't agree with the lack of concentration on math this year so this is a great way for me (a strong NON-teacher type) to be able to help build on where I think he needs to be education-wise.

The perfect supplemental work. I like how each daily section is bite-sized, but still keeps the concepts fresh in the student's mind. The only thing I will say about this book is that sometime the directions are vague, but usually you can help your child figure it out.

CHAPTER 1No Regrets.Stupid name for a signature cocktail. Brears had found the recipe online, this tequila-Baileys thing. Seven shots plus the deejay speeding everything up plus the pink wine Leanza had drunk before the ceremony were killing her bladder. When she got to the ladies’ room, a line trailed out into the hall. Pathetic little ladies’ room, like two stalls, because of what the venue had been before. She took her place at the back. Her bladder felt like it was gonna explode. No Regrets. As if.Last week at the bachelorette in Vegas, Brears was all about regrets. After ten shots of her signature bachelorette cocktail, this rum and some sweet orange thing with bubbles in it. The week before there was a signature bridal shower cocktail, champagne and grapefruit soda and a toothpick with a little plastic bride on top.Everything had to be “bespoke” for Brears, since she’d learned the word, she couldn’t stop using it.Once her mom or dad died there’d probably be a signature funeral cocktail. At the bachelorette, Brears was throwing back shots faster than anyone while doing a man-spread on the sofa in the suite and letting out artisan shrimp pizza burps that smelled like the bottom of a fish tank. Then she started talking, looking like she was gonna cry.Plenty of regrets about Garrett, what the eff am I doing?Everyone telling her what a great guy he was, she was doing the right thing.Brears drinks, burps, looks like she’s falling asleep but she isn’t. Coupla more shots, she’s all I love Garrett so so so so much.I think. Then she did cry.But right then the hot-boy strippers came prancing in like ponies. Fireman / cop / cowboy / pool boy. Stripped naked in seconds.Brears had no regrets about them.Leanza was sure Garrett, who really was nice but kind of smart-dumb pathetic, had no clue. His signature cocktail wasn’t. Some kind of pale ale made from oats? That is not a cocktail.Leanza’s stomach pressed down and moved around weird. Like she’d swallowed a rat and it was chewing on her bladder. The line hadn’t budged since she got there. Two old women, had to be friends of Brears’s or Garrett’s parents, got in line behind her and started talking about what a lovely affair it was. Considering the venue. Did you know? Giggle giggle.Old bitches shouldn’t giggle, they sounded like maniac squirrels.Maybe that was the problem with the ladies’ room, some grandma not able to get the plumbing going . . . then oh, shit, there was Mom, barely able to walk, her boobs hanging out as she wobbled toward the line and Leanza knew she’d want to have one of those girl-to-girl talks that proved to Mom she was still young . . . oh, God, she was going to explode. Then she remembered.Upstairs, where she and the other bridesmaids had sat in a crowded room and did their hair and makeup—all by themselves, you’d think Brears would share her stylists but no—upstairs there was also a bathroom. Leanza hadn’t used it but Teysa had, Leanza remembered because Teysa came back with the bottom of her dress all flipped up in back and Leanza had joked you look like you just took it in the backside and Teysa had laughed and Leanza had fixed her.Problem was, the stairs were all the way on the other side of the building. Probably some office space for when it used to be a strip joint. Could she make it back there without totally exploding?Would she get up there and then find someone else had figured it out first and then she’d have to come back here and go to the end of the line? The only other choice was sneaking out into the back alley and squatting and just doing it. Some dude saw her, his lucky day, the way she felt, she could care less. But the alley was even farther than upstairs and to get there she’d have to run all the way around the building and then out back.No way, it was either stay where it wasn’t moving or make a break for the stairs. And in a second Mom would see her.Muttering, “Eff it,” she ran.The old ladies behind her said something rude.Eff them, they were lucky they weren’t getting sprayed.Barely able to move her legs without leaking, Leanza climbed the shaky, creaky, dirty-looking stairs. What a dump, Brears’s idea of creative.Holding her breath and fighting to maintain control, she finally made it to the top and saw the door up ahead and to the right marked Employees Only.No one waiting here, if she was lucky, no one inside. She charged the door.Open! I am Warrior Princess!Without bothering to close the door, she threw herself in.Gross stinky place. No window, a gross stinky closet. One urinal, one stall. Figures. She yanked on the door of the stall, was already pulling down her pantyhose and her thong when she saw the girl.Sitting on top of the lid of a closed toilet, her head dropped, dark hair falling to one side like a curtain. Dressed in a tight red dress and gold do-me sandals with heels as long and skinny as a lead pencil. Leanza hadn’t seen her at the ceremony or the dancing, didn’t recognize her, probably someone from Garrett’s side.Leanza said, “Excuuuse me.”The girl didn’t answer. Or move. Or do anything.Stupid bitch. How many No Regrets had she tossed back?Eff her, this was a toilet not an armchair, do your stoner thing somewhere else.Leanza took hold of the girl’s bare arm.Cold skin. Like not . . . human. She said, “Hey!” really loud. Repeated it.No answer.Cupping the bottom of the girl’s chin—it was even colder than the arm—she lifted the drunk bitch’s face, ready to slap her awake.Brown eyes as expressionless as plastic buttons stared back at her.The girl’s face was a weird gray color. So were her lips, gray with some blue around the edges, hanging loose, you could see some teeth. Dried drool trickled down both sides. Then Leanza saw it: the circle around the girl’s neck. Like a horrible red choker necklace but this was no jewelry, this cut into the skin, red and gritty around the edges.Leanza knew she was being stupid but her mouth said, “Hey, c’mon, wake up.”She knew because she was the one who’d found her grandmother after the heart attack. Ten years old, a Sunday, walking into Grandma’s bedroom wanting to show her a drawing she’d made.Bottle of ginger beer spilled onto the comforter. The same plastic-button eyes. The same gray skin.Gripped by nausea, Leanza backed away from the girl. In the process, she kicked the girl’s leg and the girl slid off the lid and down. Flopping as she continued to slide, her head making a weird thumpy noise as it hit the filthy floor.Sliding toward Leanza.Leanza scurried back.Staring at the dead girl, she said, “Eff it,” and let her bladder do whatever it felt like.CHAPTER 2Sometimes Milo briefs me before a crime scene, sometimes he waits until I get there. This time he sent me an email attachment along with an address on Corner Avenue in West L.A.This is for context; get here asap if you can.His call had come in at ten oh five p.m. By ten fifteen, I was dressed and ready to go. Robin was reading in bed. I kissed her, didn’t have to explain. Two minutes later, I was cruising south on Beverly Glen.I turned west on Sunset, found the boulevard free and clear until a red light stopped me at Veteran near the northwestern edge of the U.’s campus. Activating my phone, I checked out the attachment.E-vite. Gray lettering over a skin-rash-pink background. The Thing: Brearely and Garrett are finally doing it!!!!!Why You: Hey, they want you there!!!!!The Place: The AuraThe Theme: Saints and SinnersThe Dress: Everyone needs to be hot!I’d thrown on a navy turtleneck, jeans, and rubber-soled shoes that could tolerate bloodstains, wore my LAPD consultant badge on a chain. Dead bodies and the hubbub they attract call for unobtrusive, not hot.I took Veteran south, drove through Westwood and into West L.A. Corner’s not far from the West L.A. station, a stubby, easily overlooked street that paper-cuts Pico Boulevard as it hugs the 405 overpass. The address put the scene north of Pico, on a freeway-deafened strip of abused asphalt. Street lighting was irregular, creating leopard-spot shadows.I passed a scrap yard specializing in English cars, a plumbing supply warehouse, a few auto mechanics, and an unmarked warehouse before reaching the final building, just short of a chain-link dead end.Two-story stucco rectangle painted dark, maybe black, no windows.A crudely painted sign topped a slab metal door. Thunderbolts above assertive lettering. Marquee bulbs rimmed the sign. Some were still working.THE AURAAlley to the left, parking lot to the right, now yellow-taped. Fifty or so vehicles sat behind the tape. Behind them was a generator-fed trailer that chuffed. Open door, a cook in a white tunic: pop-up kitchen.Outside the tape was a smaller grouping of wheels: Milo’s unmarked bronze Impala, a white Ford LTD that I recognized as Moe Reed’s current ride, another Ford, maroon, that I couldn’t identify, a gray Chevy.Four detectives for this one. Plus the eight uniforms who’d arrived in a quartet of black-and-whites. Two of the squad cars were topped by clinking cherry bars.Off to the right, the white vans, crime lab and coroner’s, a pair of ominous twins. No coroner’s investigator car. Come and gone.Easy identification or none at all.Despite all the squad cars, the only uniform in sight rested her hip against the driver’s door of a blinking cruiser. Working her phone, looking serene. As I walked toward her, she gave me a glance. Usually I get stopped and have to show I.D. She said, “Hey, Dr. Delaware.”I’d seen her somewhere; the site of someone else’s misfortune.I said, “Hi, Officer . . . Stanhope.”Her phone screen was filled with kittens wearing funny hats. She clicked without self-consciousness. “Cute, huh? Around the back, Doc, it’s pretty crazy.”Slowly spreading smile. “Guess that’s why you’re here.”The remaining seven uniforms were walking among the parked cars, copying license plates. Milo watched the process from a rear metal door. His arms were crossed atop the swell of his gut. His height, his bulk, and the scowl on his face fit the image of club bouncer. His droopy brown suit, tragic tie the color of pesto sauce, once-white wash-’n’-wear shirt, and tan desert boots didn’t.He lowered his arms. “Thanks for coming. Got a hundred people inside, a whole bunch of them boozed up. The plan is to settle them down, then Moe and Sean and Alicia Bogomil will try to get info. You get what I meant about context.”“A wedding?” I said. “I do.”He stared at me. Cracked up.I said, “Interesting venue. Looks like a low-rent strip joint.”“That’s ’cause it once was. Before that it was some kind of church.”“Saints and Sinners.”“Huh?”“The wedding theme.”“Doubtful that’s the reason, Alex. I’ve met the lovely couple, don’t see them as that abstract. C’mon, let me show you where the big sin happened.”A building-wide passageway carpeted in tomato-red low-pile took us past an open space. Parquet dance floor centering round tables for ten. Paper plates and a single scrawny sunflower on each table. To the left were a long buffet table, three portable bars, a photo booth, and a bank of videogames. Empty red plastic cups dotted the floor along with crumbs and stains. Plastic streamers drooped from the ceiling. Four polyethylene columns attempting to look like plaster segmented the walk space from the party space. The remnants of a strip joint evoking Caligula. The tables in the main room were occupied by sober-faced people dressed for celebration. Most were in their thirties, a few were old enough to be the parents of thirty-year-olds. A rear stage held a deejay setup. Obstructing a clear view of the stage were three chrome stripper poles, one bedecked with plastic sunflowers on unlikely vines. Lacking music and dim lighting, the room had the sad, rancid feel of every after-hours club. A bit of conversational hum drifted toward us, unable to compete with a heavy, gray silence.Detective Moe Reed, with the powerlifter’s build and youth of an actual bouncer, stood watch on a third of the tables. Detective Sean Binchy, tall, lanky, and baby-faced under ginger spiked hair, was in charge of the next group. Last was Alicia Bogomil, just turned forty, with gimlet eyes and knife-edged features. The ponytailed long hair I’d seen when I met her was replaced by a no-nonsense bun.Milo and I had encountered Alicia when she worked private security at a hotel where a patient of mine had been murdered. She’d been a real cop in Albuquerque for seven years, moved to California for a romance that didn’t work out, was languishing when she helped us with info. She’d mentioned joining LAPD to Milo. I had no idea there’d been follow-through. No reason for me to know; for nearly three months, there hadn’t been a murder where Milo felt I’d be useful. As we passed the partygoers, a few looked up. The slumping posture and resigned eyes of passengers stranded in an airport.I said, “How long ago did it happen?”Milo said, “Victim was found at nine fifty, probably an hour before, give or take.” He glanced at the crowd. A couple of people looked over hopefully. As Milo continued to walk, their heads drooped.“Meet my new alter ego: Officer Buzzkill.”We continued to the end of the walkway, hooked left as if we were exiting through the front door, then he made another left and began trudging up a flight of grimy stairs.I said, “Up to the VIP area?”“Doesn’t look like it ever was one, nothing pimped-up about the second floor.”“Maybe back in the day this place was a pioneer of income equality.”He huffed and began climbing the stairs. At the top, a third left took us down a narrow, low-ceilinged hallway. Four doors, three of them closed.A suited, gloved, and masked crime scene tech squatted near the open door. Beyond her was a small bathroom. Urinal and sink to the left, wooden stall straight ahead. The floor and walls were inlaid with yellowish tiles that had once been white.Cramped, windowless space. A mélange of foul odors. The stall door was propped open. A dark-haired young woman lay facing us on the floor. Late twenties to early thirties, wearing a blood-red, one-shoulder dress that had ridden up to mid-thigh. Pantyhose trailed up to what looked like red bicycle shorts. She was diminished by death but still beautiful, with smooth skin and delicate features. Hints of cream in her skin where the terminal pallor hadn’t set in.

I've tried to finish this book three times, and keep giving up.I started reading Kellerman's books back in the late Eighties or early Nineties, when I was just a wee lass starting college. I was enthralled by Alex's psychological insight and Milo's empathy, contrasted against the noir and gritty realism. I am and have always been a character-oriented reader, but was impressed by his careful-if-sometimes-too-coincidental plotting. I stuck with Alex through his relationship difficulties with Robin, his morphing from clinician to forensic specialist, and the very gradual shifts away from the relationship-oriented writing that resonated even in the most outlandish scenarios. So this book may be the end of my tagging along with the guys. I don't get any sense that Alex is interested any longer in the human side of the victim or potential suspects. There's just a pervasive, overwhelming feeling of apathy, contempt, fatigue, and resentment from Alex and Milo. I get enough of that from real life and reading the NYT and WaPo. I don't need it in my fiction-life as well. And finally--this is a long-standing pet peeve--I have to say that Robin's eagerness to just drop her panties at a second's notice for this guy, book after book, is not realistic and frankly a little annoying. No one is that hot. She has become the epitome of a one-dimensional character., and he could have done so much more to develop her.

OK, so I've read every Delaware book thus far and I've been reading this one for awhile. It is mildly entertaining but becoming very repetitive and predictable. I think this series has pretty much jumped the shark at this point. Also, very irritating is the stilted dialogue in this book. It is almost unbearable to read most questions posed by characters ending with ",no?" As in, "that's what people do, no?" It is okay when used sparingly but the author has almost everyone using this sentence structure. in my experience, people just don't talk like that and it makes the book a little painful to read. I know, I am being picky, but when paying a lot for a book from a well known author, I expect a little more creativity. Instead, it seems, he has all the characters speak as he likely does. I can't think of any other reason for this. Otherwise, an OK book, but I am going to step off the Delaware bandwagon. Just my opinion, I could be wrong :)

i’ve been waiting with baited breath for this book to come out as i am a huge fan of milo & alex. this book was a supreme let down. it is soooooo boring!!!! sooo boring, so technical and what’s with the body shapers?! really? thumbs down. i was super excited when i saw this book had been delivered & tore the packaging open when it arrived as i rode the elevator to my apartment. i usually finish his books in one sitting. i’ve fallen asleep twice while trying to finish. i’m going out to get a pizza, then i’m gunna come back and attempt finish it. then, wait another year and hopefully the next one he writes is better.

Agatha Christie wrote 33 novels featuring Hercule Poirot; Rex Stout wrote an equal number featuring Nero Wolfe and Conan Doyle wrote a mere FOUR about Sherlock Holmes. And while they also wrote numerous short pieces about their characters, I think it's fair to note that the novel is the in-depth way of understanding a characterAll of which is to lead into the fact that this is the 34TH Alex Delaware; which, in turn, is to lead into the fact that, with ANY of the above in their heyday, you don't REVIEW the latest work, you, simply, announce it.Of COURSE some of the Delaware's are better than others; Of COURSE they don't have the kind of freshness of discovery, today they had when he, Kellerman, and even you and I, were younger. But... IT DOESN'T MATTER! It's the new Alex Delaware and you will read it because, if for no other reason (and there are many) you've read all the others!Oh, and by the way, isn't it about time we started calling them Alex Delaware/Milo Sturgis novels?

If you like the rapport between the two then you won't be disappointed. If you are like me and not from LA and enjoy the tour of the city Alex generally takes you on, then again you won't be disappointed. These are the things I have come to appreciate in this series. And no Alex Delaware novel would be complete without a shot across the bow at people who substitute verbiage for intelligent thought. There's a very good example of that in here, and I don't even know how Jonathan managed to create it all.Robin's role is minimal, which for me is good news. Others may enjoy her character. This may be a spoiler:I thought the mystery was pretty good. As the book progressed it looked more and more like it was going to be some complex or convoluted scheme to cover up one thing or another, but in the end, it was actually quite simple. Sort of a reverse of how a lot of mysteries often go.

While I still enjoy Kellerman's characters and their relationships to each other, I found this book disappointing. There was a lack of consistency in the details, and some logic and timeline problems that were off-putting. And why do we have to get a list of every street they drive to get somewhere? Who cares? I've read most of the Delaware series up till now, but this may have been my last one.

Alex and Milo are getting old. This is not up to the usual standard of writing set by Jonathan kellerman and, if Alex continues to work, hope he gets his mojo back.erman

I’m struggling to get through this book just because it’s a Jonathan Kellerman. Purportedly anyway. I have a strong feeling that Jonathan is letting Jesse Kellerman write under his name. The last two books are nothing like the Jonathan Kellerman I have always eagerly anticipated. Sadly I won’t be finishing the book nor purchasing anymore in the future. I would like my money back.

I just received this today and am so glad I ordered it. I've been a fan of Barbra for 50 years or more (since I was a kid), and these photos bring back the Barbra we fell in love with. They capture the essence of the fresh, unique talent and personality who took the world by storm at such a tender age. One of the photos made me tear up (page 24), pouring her heart out in song, in her first appearance on The Tonight Show on 2/1/63.My other favorite is on page 6, looking at her reflection in the dressing room mirror, probably before going on. And I love the later shots of her in Paris, meeting Chanel, and dining at Maxim's, she looks incredible! I thoroughly enjoyed this book (especially while listening to my favorite Barbra album, "Je m'appelle Barbra"!), and highly recommend it!

If you are a Barbra fan then this is a must have!!! Amazing photos throughout this book! I've seen many photos for I even run a fan club and have been a dedicated fan for well over 50 years. Such a treat to see so many wonderful and new to me photos. Thank you so very much Bill Eppridge for giving us fans such a beautiful treasure. Barbra would be proud!

A must have for any true fan of this modern day legend. One of my favorite new photo never before published is of Barbra during the early days, washing her laundry in the bathtub which was in the kitchen....wayyyyy before her superstardom began. From humble beginnings the legend became Barbra... Fun reading (light) and amazing black and white photodocumentation to please the fans.

Barbra Streisand at the start of her remarkable career. Nice quality photos and many never seen before. The pictures could be sharper, but then everything would show.

Fun collection of photos that tell us a story about a specific period in young Barbra’s career. Many I had never seen before. Love it.

Excellent photos -- I've been a long time fan and many of these photos I have never seen before -- great presentation.

Bought this as a gift for a Barbra Streisand fan. She loved it.

BARBRA IS ALWAYS THE BEST AND THIS IS A GREAT INSIDE VIEW.

All servants (ministry leaders: elders, board members, pastors) involved with counseling or ministering to people should go through this book. It's important to know HOW to BIBLICALLY help people be accountable for their behavior & problem solve within the Body.So many times the church will avoid getting involved with ministry issues or do not want to address bad behavior.

Our pastor suggested our feuding family (2 years no talking but in the same Church) to all read the book. Our pastor had been praying for us those 2 years non stop - situation so sensitive that it was a difficult situation to resolve. We hadn't even got to the 3rd chapter of the book and a meeting was called where we had a formal "peacemaking" trial. Our pastor set out a plan for us and rules etc and long hidden things were brought to the surface and we were able to walk out re-united. And we haven't even finished the book! Thank you!!!

I return to this book when in need. It's helped me look at situations with people differently. This book needs to be available in every office. I don't think it's a read from front to back, is a great reference per situation.

To be honest, I only read this because it was a study group pick. I was pleasantly surprised! The information is so common sense, but I needed to read it. This book helped to change the dynamic of my marriage. We had one particular conflict we just couldn't agree on. Everything else was great, but if this issue ever came up it would be a huge snag. I read the chapter regarding the root of conflict (can't remember the chapter name). My attitude totally changed as a result and there isn't any problem talking about this particular subject anymore. I'm so glad I read this book, I believe it was divine intervention!

This book was rough for the first few chapters. Just about every few sentences had a scripture reference which was great that it was all biblical based, but I found it distracting and the book was taking me forever to get through. About halfway through I felt it got meatier and all the information was relevant and easily applied. I highly recommend. The one word that really stuck to me was DWELL. How often do I dwell on a situation which makes it worse? How often do I dwell on a situation and discuss it with others which only keeps the hurt and anger fresh? Lots of good things to remember and apply to both current and future situations. I recommend this book... if you find the first few chapters a little rough to get through - hang in there!

Simply a must read. I’ve been in ministry for 23 years and the Biblical teaching covered here is unparalleled in practical usefulness and present need among Christians. I’ve seen churches rescued by paying attention to these truths, and I’ve seen churches blown up by ignoring it. Read. This. Book.

I have bought several copies over the years for I keep giving mine away. Such a book should be read by every Christian and particularly ever pastor and elder. It deals with an issue that every personal family and church family will have to deal with, not at some time, but all the time. Forgiveness is vital in any and every relationship and this book leads one through new depths of forgiveness that is life changing, bringing true freedom and restoration to broken relationships.

This is really a great book it tells how to deal with conflict the way God would want you. I think everyone should read this book not just for home lifebut work as well even for your ministry.

My History with this book:I originally read this book in a college conflict resolution class four years ago. This book changed the way I viewed conflict, and shown a light on an area of my life that I was still living more as a carnal man, rather than a believer. After this class, I have undertaken to read this book through every year from front to back, and have also referenced it many times throughout the year. I have also purchased the Small Group Study through the Peacemaker website and have gone through it with a group. Out of all the book that I recommend to Christians, this by far the one that stands out.In my marriage, the principles of this book are the most referred too. My wife and I have both grown to love the biblical principles of peace, that are laid out so clearly in the Peacemaker.About the Principles taught in this book:The principles taught in the peacemaker are very biblical. You can confirm that through studying through the book, or by checking the references of the men of God who commend it on the books covers. This book is one that works primarily on you, it is not a fix for your opponents. It is hard, but worth every effort.Nothing shines more like a Christian who deals with conflict differently. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be known as the sons of God" Matt. 5:9

Review

“You’ve got excuses? Tiffany has recipes. Eat at Home Tonight shows busy readers how to get a hearty meal on the table even if you’re starved for time or short on ingredients. You’ll never waste time in the drive-through lane again.” —Laura Vanderkam, author of Off the Clock: Feel Less Busy While Getting More Done “This beautiful book contains power far beyond any collection of recipes. In Eat at Home Tonight, author Tiffany King communicates with the clarity of Oprah, the logic of Martha Stewart, and the joy of Julia Child. For years society has lamented the American family’s disconnect. But now Tiffany King is bringing us all back together. So come on! Let’s Eat at Home Tonight!” —Andy Andrews, New York Times best-selling author of The Traveler’s Gift and The Noticer “Decades of studies have proven the most important part of raising children into successful adults is to consistently gather around a dinner table with the family. At last, author Tiffany King proves that eating at home is not only doable but easy and fun. Part recipe book, part fascinating ideas and conversation starters, Eat at Home Tonight will help you create family experiences that will be remembered forever!” —Laurie Hise, blogger at Passionate Penny Pincher “Tiffany won me over with her first chapter: ‘I Only Have 15 Minutes Tonight.’ I mean really, isn’t that often our dilemma in this tilt-a-whirl world? I love somebody who gets my family spin. And if expedience isn’t enough, she spells out a map of food from Italy, Switzerland, Greece, Mexico, right back to Chicago and my family’s homeland of Kentucky. Then she tops it off with a twist of Tennessee—Elvis and all! Love me some Blue Suede Shoes. —Patsy Clairmont, speaker, author, and foodie “Finally a cookbook that lets me choose my meals based on my phase of life and the amount of time I have in each season! My biggest struggle with meal planning and cooking is being able to pick my meals based on my time constraints. Tiffany’s recipes are all delicious and well received by my family. I know that if I pick one of her recipes that matches my schedule for that week, everyone will be happy.” —Lisa Woodruff, founder of Organize 365 “As someone who has made dozens and dozens of Tiffany’s recipes over the past two years, I was excited about this cookbook. But it far exceeded my high expectations! I mean, hello! Where else have you seen a cookbook with recipes for when ‘My Refrigerator Is Empty’ or ‘I Only Have 15 Minutes to Cook’ or ‘I Don’t Have Time for Dishes Tonight’ or ‘We Can’t Sit Down for Dinner Tonight’? If you are looking for a cookbook that actually gets you and your needs, this is the one! I know it is going to get a lot of use in our kitchen!” —Crystal Paine, New York Times best-selling author and founder of Money Saving Mom “I knew from page 1 that Tiffany understands what my weeknight life is like, and her mealtime strategies prove it. With recipes for nights when I have only fifteen minutes, or when everyone’s on a different schedule, or when I really don’t have time (or the inclination) to do dishes, Tiffany equips cooks like me to get home-cooked meals on the table, night after night.” —Anne Bogel, creator of Modern Mrs Darcy and author of I’d Rather Be Reading

This book has made it into my life at the perfect time. I am a working mom with a husband who owns his own business and works 12-16 hours a day. My two daughters are in so many activities that finding time to cook, eat and get them to stuff has been the biggest challenge.I hear about this book in Janet Parshall’s radio show and bought it immediately. I can tell you it has been a huge gift to me.Last night I made the Sweet and Sour pork in the crock pot, and it was cooking while I was st two softball games. When I came home it was all ready to eat and all I had to do was make rice. It was delish and so easy to assemble the ingredients and throw together. Also so many of the ingredients and recipes I had on hand in my pantry/freezer, and are healthy for you.Last night I did the prep work for the Italian sausage and peppers and Elsa’s Chicken Bahamian “Soup” (which is so cool because my daughters name is Elsa), and I can’t wait to have that ready when I get home. The best part is there chapters and how it is laid out based on what time you do have for dinner. Good bye take out!!

This is a fabulous cookbook! I was lucky enough to try several of the recipes before the book was published. The recipes were easy and I had most of the ingredients in my pantry and boy were they tasty. I can't wait to try more of them. Some of the chapter names are: I only have 15 Minutes Tonight, My refrigerator is Empty Tonight and Everyone's in a Different Schedule Tonight. So you can tell it addresses how to cook dinner with our very busy life styles. Do yourself a favor and get this book to help feed your family!

Beautiful photographs and recipes I will actually cook. I have been using Eat At Home's menus for some time now, but it's nice to have a cookbook with some fast and tasty recipes to cook from. This book is arranged for the type of cooking that you might be doing - only have a few minutes? Pull out one of the quicker recipes. Have more time? There are some great recipes here too for the days when you have time to savor the experience of cooking. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for traditional recipes that are maybe not entirely new, but a new spin with a new gadget or a new way of preparation.

I opened this book and found so many easy recipes. Although I haven't tried all of them, every single one looks so good. I honestly have never purchased a book where I even wanted to make most of the recipes, if your lucky you find a handful of good ones. There are many crockpot and pressure cooker ideas with some helpful hints. I also found an eat at home challenge on their website which I signed up for. And no, I didnt get any type of discount on this book, just saw it on Fb and decided to try it. I can't wait to start making them all.

The recipes are simplistic yet so tasty, the challenges (names of the chapters) are real (I only have 15 minutes, I’m going to be out of the house all day etc. etc. ) but the solutions (recipes) are perfect. She gets it! We are busy but meals at home are important to build your family, stay healthy, and to stay on budget. Great gift idea. Great treat to yourself.

We were disappointed by the recipes in this book. The instructions and pictures are great, the taste not so much. They were so unappealing that we threw out what should have been leftovers. On to find another book to help us eat at home more.

I have been a longtime follower of Tiffany's blog and meal plans, and I love this cookbook! The recipes are easy-to-follow and don't have tons of ingredients or one-time special ingredients I will never use again. There are also adaptations on some of the recipes to use a pressure cooker or slow cooker. I recommend this to anyone looking for tasty, quick, budget-friendly meals.

I. LOVE. THIS. COOKBOOK. I got it as part of a team to review, and I was super excited to do so because of my personal desire to have to eat out because of the business of our life and my lack of ability to make it happen. This has been such a blessing! The recipes we have used are easy, delicious, and inexpensive. There are plans for cooking for more than one night at a one, no groceries in the house days, and just food family food! I hope this is just the first of many Eat at Home Tonight cookbooks!
